Temperatures feel like below zero this morning, but warmer conditions are coming

Southwest Ohio faces a frigid morning and day following a weekend of snow cleanout.

Many in the region were waking up to temperatures that felt like minus 7 degrees, and temperatures are expected to stay below 20 degrees until mid-afternoon as part of a gradual warm-up.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington issued a Cold Weather Advisory for Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Butler and Hamilton counties until 11 a.m. today.

The high today is 23 degrees, and the low overnight will be 17, still significantly higher than the low Sunday night into this morning.

Temperatures will continue to warm this week, with highs near or just above freezing on Tuesday and in the low 40s on Wednesday.

Thursday is expected to be the warmest day of the week with highs well above normal around 56 degrees. However, this will come with showers ahead of an approaching cold front, according to the NWS.

The temperatures this morning could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.

For those traveling or outside, it is still recommended to watch out for slippery conditions and cold temperatures.
